About Anthony T. Amos
I am a City Councilmember in the City of Fairfax seeking reelection after an exciting and effective first-term. I currently co-lead the Move Fairfax Steering Committee, focused on addressing traffic circulation in Old Town and pedestrian safety across the city. In addition to this, I represent the city on the Finance Committee, and Water and Air Quality committees with the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Virginia Municipal League. I was born into the military lifestyle. My father served in the Army for 23 years and my mom immigrated from Eritrea to Germany. Having moved around, I spent my formative years in Germany, Missouri, and Hawaii. Learning from and engaging with culturally diverse communities around the world, I took on a keen interest in public service and volunteerism. In Hawaii, I met my wife, Marena, and we have since purchased our first home together in the City of Fairfax. I am also receiving the 2026 Mason Graduate of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.) award!
