About Dustin C. Whittle
Born and raised in Danville, I am proud to call this community home. Today, I am a devoted husband, proud father of two girls, and an owner of two small businesses. As a graduate of Sacred Heart Catholic School, George Washington High School, and Virginia Tech, my roots in Danville have instilled in me the values of hard work, personal responsibility, service, and leadership. Before becoming a small business owner, I spent nearly 10 years serving our community as the Membership and Marketing Director and the Associate Executive Director of the Danville Family YMCA. In those roles, I oversaw a staff of more than 100 employees and worked closely with more than 12,000+ YMCA members and countless community partners. Those experiences gave me a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing local families, businesses, and organizations, as well as the opportunities that exist to strengthen our community. During my time at the YMCA, I helped develop more than 100+ partnerships with local nonprofits, schools, businesses, and community organizations. These partnerships were built on cooperation, shared goals, and a commitment to serving others. Throughout my time at the YMCA , I learned that meaningful progress happens when people come together, listen to one another, and focus on practical solutions.
