About Gary P. Miller
I was born in Gate City, Virginia, and have called Danville home for more than three decades. I earned my undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and my medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. I then completed my postgraduate medical training in internal medicine and cardiology before building my career as a cardiologist in Danville. For more than 30 years, I cared for patients throughout our community and helped expand access to advanced cardiac care in Southside Virginia. I founded Cardiology Consultants of Danville and helped bring procedures and services to our area that previously required patients to travel elsewhere for care. I also served for eight years on the Virginia Board of Medicine. I have served on Danville City Council since 2008, including as Vice Mayor. Throughout my time on Council, I have worked to help Danville recover from the loss of our traditional industries, strengthen our neighborhoods, attract new jobs and investment, and improve the quality of life for the people who call our city home. My wife, Karen, is a retired educator, and we are proud to call Danville home.
