About Ozan M. "Oz" Duran
I've lived in Hampton Roads for 15 years, the past 2 of which have been in Chesapeake. I'm a farmer, contractor, life-long teacher, parent, and community member. Chesapeake City is a great city to live in, my top priority is to make it more affordable for it to also be sustainable to live here. I'm a prior municipal employee for the Finance Department of Norfolk, responsible for calculating Debt Service(the mortgage and credit card payments for the City), issuing bonds that finance CIP projects(how we finance schools, roads, bridges, fire stations), balancing revenue sources, and managing the creditability(Credit Score) of the City. With this experience under my belt, I believe that I have unique background in understanding how to fund projects, with the required knowledge to make things work for Chesapeake residents rather than private interests.
