About Zachery C. Taylor
was born to a 13-year-old mother. Through her love, her faith, and the support of the Virginia Beach community, I was given something invaluable: a chance. I’ve spent my life trying to honor it. I began my education in Virginia Beach City Public Schools, continued at Tidewater Community College, and later transferred to the University of Virginia. After graduating, I commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy, where I served for four years. For the past four years, I’ve coached baseball and basketball for children with special needs. That experience has deeply shaped how I think about our schools and the responsibility we have to every child. I am also pursuing my MBA at UVA’s Darden School of Business. I’m running for School Board to give back to the community that gave me a chance and to help make sure every child gets one too.
