About Colin J. Turner
Colin Turner grew up in Manassas, and many of his formative memories are tied to the community. He sang with his school choir in Old Town, ran cross country on the Manassas battlefields, and grew up with the city's history and character as part of everyday life. Today, Colin is an active voice in local civic and preservation issues, most notably leading the community effort to save Old Bennett School. That work has brought together residents, preservationists, historians, elected officials, and community organizations around questions of preservation, transparency, public engagement, and the future of Manassas. Colin is a graduate of James Madison University and works in federal consulting, with a background in communications, user experience research, and improving how organizations serve people. He lives in Old Town Manassas with his partner, Joe, and their dachshund, Harrison.
