About John D. Moss
Kathy and I are retired; we raised three children in the same VB school systems we attended. Kathy was a school teacher for 42 years. I retired as a Navy civilian after 41 years. My last assignment was as the Director of Submarine Program Requirements and Warfare Development for Commander Submarine Force Atlantic. I have been active in Scouting for 38 years as an adult Scout leader, and I am registered with Tidewater Council Troop 375. Our daughter is a Gold Star Girl Scout, and our two sons are Eagle Scouts. The Moss family is active in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. I served on the Virginia Beach City Council on and off for 17 years, three full terms, and due to a Navy reassignment in 1995 and a special election in 2011, two partial terms. I remain well known as a fiscal conservative with a strong voice representing the values, concerns, and priorities of Virginia Beach residents to offset the undue influence of special interests on local governance.
