About Bryan D. Kimberlin

I have dedicated the past 30 years of my life to public service. I served 10 years in the United States Air Force, including active duty, the Air Force Reserve, and the Tennessee Air National Guard. My military service taught me the importance of discipline, integrity, teamwork, accountability, and putting the needs of others first. I began my career in emergency medical services in 1996. I advanced from an EMT to a paramedic, critical care flight paramedic, and paramedic supervisor. Today, I serve as Executive Director of the Southwest Virginia EMS Council, where I work with healthcare organizations, emergency responders, local governments, and community partners throughout our region. My career has provided me with extensive experience in leadership, public safety, budgeting, strategic planning, education, and bringing people together to solve difficult problems. For more than 15 years, I have volunteered with youth sports in Bristol. My service has included leadership roles with Bristol Virginia Little League and working alongside the Virginia High School sports medicine team to help care for and protect our student athletes. I have devoted countless evenings and weekends to supporting young people because I believe every student deserves a safe environment, strong role models, and the opportunity to succeed. Education is also deeply personal to me. I have dyslexia, and members of my family have experienced dyslexia and ADHD. These experiences have given me a personal understanding of the challenges faced by students who learn differently. They have also shown me the importance of early support, effective resources, and teachers who recognize the potential within every student. I am running for the Bristol Virginia School Board to continue my record of service and give back to the community that has meant so much to my family. My priorities include student safety and security, academic achievement, supporting teachers and staff, responsible financial stewardship, career and technical education, workforce readiness, and ensuring that parents and community members have a voice in their school system. I believe leadership begins with listening. I am committed to being accessible, studying the facts, treating people respectfully, and making decisions based on what is best for Bristol's students and the long-term future of our school system.
